The creation and handling of mechanical hemp was authorized in Rhode Island for business purposes on January 1, 2017. In July 2019, Rhode Island refreshed the Industrial Hemp Growth Act to expressly approve the offer of hemp-inferred consumable CBD items containing .3% THC or less. CBD consumable items incorporate concentrates, concentrates, and CBD-implanted nourishments.
Hemp-inferred CBD items can be sold in retail and monetarily exchanged. The new law requires handlers, wholesalers, and retailers to be authorized, and precludes the offer of consumable CBD items to those younger than 21.
